I have fallen in love with thermography. Embossing powder added to wet ink. The results are so cool. You can achieve a leathery look, a metalic look, a distressed look, depending on what ink and what powder you use. Well, I haven't taken the plunge into buying the equipment for this yet. You need a heat gun, good inks, and a nifty stamp or two, at the very least. But I did purchase a bottle of liquid embossing yesterday, and have been playing with it. It applies like fabric paint. So, it's thick and kind of hard to control. So far, the results have been mixed.
First I tried just blobbing it on the paper, it wasn't pretty. Next, I printed out a couple of images, and applied the liquid with a brush. Much better. Next, I tried brushing the liquid onto a stamp and then stamping the image. It's improving. I am going to try making a stencil next, and filling in the stencil. I'm also considering applying it onto my silicone pad then peeling it off and then having to glue it onto a project. I know kind of takes away from the whole embossing idea, but.....
